Welcome to the Wild Wood, the online gallery of mythic art and illustration by Shona M MacDonald.
Amongst the tangled branches and the mossy roots you'll find all kinds of faerytale and mythical creatures, their images captured in watercolour, graphite and ink. Deep in the undergrowth tiny nature spirits go about their work under the watchful eye of the Green Man while the trees themselves, ivy-clad and ancient, pass the seasons remembering a world we humans have all but forgotten. February 2009 - I've added a painting of my cat Socrates to my Faery Gallery

June 2008 - Five new images added. Two in the Children's Illustrations gallery and three in the Faery Gallery
April 2008 - I've had a bit of a re-arrange of my galleries and introduced a new one - Children's Illustrations, while the original Watercolour gallery is now the 'Faery, Fantasy and Folklore Gallery'. The pencil and pen & ink pictures are also now all under one heading of 'Drawings' I've added two new images to the Faery Gallery and four images to the Children's Illustrations Gallery There's also a new Journal
March 2008 - Three new images added to my Faery Gallery
February 2008 - I am delighted to announce that I've been chosen as one of the Artists of the Month by the World of Froud website. This is a real honour for me as Brian and Wendy Froud are artists whose work has inspired me for a very long time. I have a huge grin on my face right now :0) I've also added some of my paintings to the Fairies World website gallery where I have my own album
January 2008 - Two new images added - one to my Faery Gallery and the other to my Botanical Gallery. I'm also in the process of requesting that my details are added to the fantasy-artists.co.uk website
November 2007 - BEARS FOR SALE Some new bears have been added to my 'Bears for Sale' page.
October 2007 - Three new paintings added to my Children's Illustrations Gallery and more details of the prints I have available on the 'Prints 'n' Stuff' page.
July 2007 - Three new paintings added to my Children's Illustrations Gallery and a new Journal for July
June 2007 - Six new paintings have been added - one to my Botanical Gallery and the others to my Faery Gallery. I've also recently signed up to DeviantART and created a gallery for my work which includes a print shop. The main gallery can be found at:
